Saskatchewan’s Stefanie Lawton scored three in the fifth and two in the seventh to beat Prince Edward Island 7-3 Tuesday night at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Montreal.
Saskatchewan improved to 5-1 while P.E.I.’s Kim Dolan-skipped rink, from the Charlottetown Curling Complex, is 2-5.
P.E.I. scored single points in the fourth, sixth and eighth ends. Lawton added singles in the third and ninth end. The teams shook hands after the ninth.
It was the Island's second loss of the day after dropping an 8-5 decision to Alberta.
P.E.I., which includes third Rebecca Jean MacDonald, second Sinead Dolan and lead Michala Robison, meets New Brunswick Wednesday at 10 a.m. and Canada at 8:30 p.m. Both times are Atlantic.
