Dolan rink loses to Yukon at Scotties

Prince Edward Island has dropped its first two games at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Montreal.

The Kim Dolan rink, from the Charlottetown Curling Complex, was trailing 5-3 Sunday when they gave up five in the eighth in a 10-3 loss to the Yukon. The Island squad scored singles in the third, sixth and seventh ends while the Yukon had deuces in the second and fourth ends and a single in the fifth.

The Island team includes third Rebecca Jean MacDonald, second Sinead Dolan, lead Michala Robison, alternate Jackie Reid and coach Nancy Cameron.

Prince Edward Island plays Quebec (0-2) Sunday at 8 p.m. Atlantic.

They opened the 12-team tournament with a 7-4 extra end loss Saturday to British Columbia.

Dolan scored a deuce in the first end. B.C.’s Kesa Van Osch-skipped rink from Victoria answered with a single in the second while the next three ends were blanked.

Dolan scored one in the sixth to take a 3-1 lead, but B.C. tied it with a deuce in the seventh and took the lead with a single in the next end. Dolan forced the extra end with a single in the 10th.
