P.E.I. junior curling rink wins game at nationals

The Kyle Holland rink beat Nunavut 12-2 Thursday in eight ends in seedings play at the M&M Meat Shops Canadian junior curling championships in Liverpool, N.S.

With the score tied 1-1 after two ends, the Charlottetown Curling Complex team scored deuces in three straight ends to take a commanding 7-1 lead. After giving up a single in the sixth, Holland iced the game with five in the seventh.

The Holland rink (2-6), which consists of third Tony Nabuurs, second Alex Sutherland, lead Taylor McInnis and coach Angela Hodgson, plays Quebec today at 12:30 p.m.

The Veronica Smith rink (4-4) was idle on Thursday. They play the Northwest Territories today at 12:30 p.m. The Cornwall Curling Club rink also consists of third Chloe McCloskey, second Sabrina Smith, lead Katie Fullerton and coach Bill Hope.
