Baseball team holding tryouts Saturday

Four Holland College Hurricanes baseball players were named all-Canadians on Monday by the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association.

First team all-Canadians include shortstop Jay Oram and outfielder Grant Grady while pitcher Brady Arsenault and outfielder Dominique Ryan were named to the second team.

Oram, a Summerside native, hit .347 and drove in 14 runs in 20 regular season, playoff and national tournament games, while Kinkora's Grady hit .449 and had 28 RBIs overall last season.

Arsenault, also from Summerside, went 6-0 with 33 strikeouts and a 1.47 earned-run average.

Charlottetown's Ryan was .303 from the plate while driving in 23 runs.

Holland College will hold a training session for current team members and potential recruits Saturday, 8:30 to 10 p.m., at the Stratford Indoor Soccer Complex.
