Athletics, Brewers pick up wins in KCBL

Marshall Ellis hit two home runs with three RBIs to lead the P.E.I. Brewing Company Athletics to a 9-4 win over the Peakes Bombers in Kings County Baseball League action Wednesday night.

Josh Kirpatrick went the distance on the mound and chipped in with two hits, including a two-run homer.

Rob Phelan and Joe Gardiner had three hits for the Bombers.

Charlie Jay took the loss with relief from Matt Bradley.  


Brewer 6, Royals 2

The Northside Gill Construction Inc. Brewers got up 3-0 early and never looked back as they beat the Freetown Royals 6-2 Wednesday to clinch fourth place.

Taylor Larkin pitched a complete-game, three-hitter with seven strikeouts. D.J. Dunn, Peter MacLeod and Jed Winters all had doubles to lead the Brewers while Ethan Laybolt reached based five times on three walks and two errors with two runs scored.

Dylan MacQuaid suffered the loss with relief from Brad Power. Spencer MacAllister, MacQuaid and Morgan Murphy had the Royals’ hits.

The Brewers finish the regular season tonight in Morell against the Jays at 6:30.
