The Charlottetown Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders fell 6-1 to the Hub City Brewers in New Brunswick Senior Baseball League action Wednesday night in Moncton.
Brody McDonald started the game for the Islanders (13-18) but had to be relieved early in the first inning after feeling tightness in his throwing arm.
Jeremy McKinnon, Jordan Duffy and Jacob Beck finished the game in relief.
Martin Poirier threw seven innings of four-hit baseball to lead the Brewers
The Islanders scored first in the second inning after hits by Alex Abbott and Will Connolly led to a sacrifice bunt by Kris McGuirk and an RBI groundout by Josh Kelly.
Poirier was able to keep the Islanders from scoring the rest of the way.
Dylan McKenna added two hits for the Islanders.
The team concludes its regular season play Sunday in Moncton when they face the Mets at 7 p.m.
