Tyson Blue pitched a three-hitter and Dustin Larkin hit 4-for-4 to lead the Northside Gill Construction Brewers to a 4-0 win over Charlottetown Dominos Blue Jays in Kings County Baseball League action Wednesday night at Memorial Field.
Larkin, who also scored three runs, was a home run away from completing the batting cycle.
D.J. Dunn was 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Brewers.
Josh MacKinnon, Owen Wilson and Nick Creelman had the Jays’ hits.
Clark Gallant allowed five hits over six innings for the Jays before giving way to Blair Creelman.
Athletics 11, Expos 10
At Stratford, the P.E.I. Brewing Company Athletics edged the Charlottetown Action Aero Expos 11-10.
Corey Douguay was the winning pitcher in relief of starter Kyle MacDougall.
Brad Mullen went the distance in taking the loss.
Randy Taylor was 4-for-4 to lead the Athletics at the plate. Dominique Ryan and Josh Kirpatrick had two hits each and Marshall Ellis hit a three-run homer.
The Expos were led by Andrew Arsenault, who had three hits, Duff MacDonald and Justin Bradley, each with two.
Brewers 6, Selects 2
Friday in Morell, the Brewers beat the P.E.I. Youth Selects 6-2 behind a strong performance from Jason MacLean, who tossed a five-hitter and with 10 strikeouts.
Nigel Fisher, Evan Myers and MacLean all had two hits to lead the Brewers. Kyle Pinksen, J.J. Oram and Ethan Laybolt all went 1-for-3 for the Selects.
Porter Smith suffered the loss, with relief from Brett Hicken.
