The Charlottetown Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders look to stay perfect against the Hub City Brewers this season when they hit the field tonight in Moncton.
The Islanders (10-10) are 3-0 this season against the Brewers (7-11) with two of the games going to extra innings.
“We’re going to play our game,” Charlottetown coach Allison Macdonald said Tuesday night. “We’ve been successful with them so far this year and we have to hope that
we continue being successful by playing the way we have been playing.”
The Islanders’ game Tuesday with the Moncton Mets was postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been announced.
Brody McDonald was supposed to start on Tuesday, but the Islanders will go with Jacob Beck (2-3 with a 3.37 ERA) tonight.
“It was Jacob’s turn tomorrow night and we’re going to leave it at Jacob and give Brody a little bit of extra rest,” Macdonald said.
McDonald has pitched in all three games with the Brewers this season and has two wins.
The Islanders are expecting to see Brewers’ ace Simon Boucher tonight for the first time this season. The right-handed hurler is 3-3 with a save and a 1.96 earned-run average in eight games this season. He has pitched with the Mets in the past.
Bryan Linton is not available tonight for the Islanders.
Charlottetown will host the Saint John Alpines Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
