Charlottetown Gaudet's Auto Body Islanders
Orry Cook drove in Brad Gallant with a sixth-inning single for the go-ahead run as the Chatham Ironmen defeated the Charlottetown Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders 6-5 Thursday in Miramichi.
Darren Hardy recorded the win in New Brunswick Senior Baseball League action while Taylor Larkin took the loss. Sean Corcoran and Josh Kelly were the Islanders’ top hitters.
Chatham jumped out to an early 5-0 lead. They scored four in the first inning off of two hit batsman, two singles and a error lead while Kris Keating's home run in the third pushed the score to 5-0.
Reliver Tyson Blue held Chatham scoreless and the Islanders managed to tie the game 5-5.
The islanders scored five runs off of starter Kevin Bowes. Jordan Duffy had three RBIs on a bases loaded double and Alex Abbott and Morgan MacLean had rbi singles.
Charlottetown falls to 5-6 while Chatham improves to 4-3.
The Islanders host the Moncton Mets on Saturday in Summerside at 7 p.m.
