Jacob Beck and Jake Waugh will have a rematch today when the Charlottetown Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders host the Fredericton Royals.

The New Brunswick Senior Baseball League game starts at 2 p.m. at Memorial Field.

The two pitchers met a week ago in Charlottetown and Waugh recorded the win as the Royals won 8-0. The game was scoreless through four innings. Fredericton took the second game of the doubleheader 4-3 in eight innings.

The first-place Royals (6-1) lost their first game of the season 2-1 to Hub City on Wednesday. Fredericton has the league’s best offence, led by Mike Washburn and Dave Barr, who is a perennial contender for league batting title.

The Islanders (4-4) look to snap a three-game losing streak. They hit the road Sunday to play the Moncton Mets at 7 p.m.
