The Holland College Hurricanes varsity baseball team will hit the indoor field at the Stratford soccer facility Saturday for its first workout.

The coaching staff will be running potential players through a series of drills as part of their identification process from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The Hurricanes will play in the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association’s Atlantic Conference this fall against St. Mary’s, St. F.X., UNB, Cape Breton, Dalhousie and Crandall.

Head coach Andrew MacNevin intends to have one more identification session in mid-March before the players will join their summer teams for the start of their seasons.

Anyone interested in trying out for the Hurricanes are encouraged to attend Saturday’s session. Players must be full-time Holland College students during the season to play on the team. Players do not have to be a currently attending Holland College to participate in Saturday’s session.
