Will meet Peakes in the final
STRATFORD — Randy Taylor hit a walk-off three-run home run with two outs Sunday to give the Stratford 3 Points Aerospace Athletics a 13-12 victory over the Charlottetown Jays.
The win completes the sweep of the best-of-five Kings County Baseball League semifinal series.
Tyler Johnston was the winning pitcher in relief of starter Corey Douguay while Dan O’Shea suffered the loss in relief of starter Chad Mackay.
Andrew MacNevin was 5-for-5 to lead Stratford at the plate while Adam Smith and Shawn MacDougall each had three hits, including a solo home run by MacDougall.
The Jays were led by Kris O’Brien, who hit two home runs, while Mike Roberts had three hits. Josh and Jeremy MacKinnon each had two hits to help the Jays’ attack.
They will now face the Peakes Bombers in the final.
Bombers 5, Chevies 1
Josh Coffin hit a three-run double in the Peakes Bombers’ five-run fourth inning to defeat the Morell Chevies 5-1 and win their semifinal series 3-1.
The Chevies scored their lone run in the seventh.
Coffin pitched a complete game win while Quen Johnston pitched the complete game loss.
Colin Myers and Rob Phelan both went 2-for-3 while Desi Doyle led the Chevies’ attack, going 3-for-4 while Jason and Grant Doyle were each 2-for-4.
