The Kensington-Cornwall Crusaders split a pair of games against east coast rivals during the opening day of action at the bantam boys baseball championships Thursday in Vaughan, Ont.,
The Crusaders defeated Newfoundland and Labrador 10-1 victory before losing 10-0 to Nova Scotia.
Kyle Pinksen was the winning pitcher for the Crusaders, allowing a run on three hits through six innings.
Matt Barlow had two hits and scored three runs. Pinksen had two RBIs and tallied three hits while Hunter McQuaid had two hits and three RBIs.
Nova Scotia scored six times in the fifth inning and never looked back.
The Crusaders play Saskatchewan this morning at 9:30 a.m. and Manitoba at 3:30 p.m. Both times are Atlantic.
