The Morell Coverall Construction Chevies scored runs in four of five innings to drop the Stratford 3 Points Machining and Aerospace Athletics 13-1 Sunday afternoon to climb back into the Kings County Baseball League championship series.

The A's hold a 2-1 series lead with Game 4 scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Morell.

On Sunday afternoon, the A's went with Josh Kirkpatrick on the hill, but the young right-hander lasted only two thirds of an inning, leaving trailing 1-0 with an injury. He was relieved by Adam Smith, who would finish the game for Stratford. The pair surrendered 13 runs on 14 hits.

Grant Doyle picked up the win, limiting Stratford to just four hits.

The Chevies were led by Jarrod Laybolt, who had three hits, including a three-run home-run. Scott Ellsworth added three hits while Scott Harper and Quen Johnston each chipped in with a pair of doubles.

For the A's, Shaun MacDougall's RBI double in the third inning scored John Walsh, who had reached on a double, to break the shutout.

Peakes could be getting hammered by the Chevies if they had the pitching to get by Stratford.

is stratford not winning this series as of now?..yes they are, so save the comments for after the series, there is negative comments on here every day about how bad of a team stratford is , saying there bats are no good their pitching is weak , listen if you have something to say than say it at the field if you think you have balls , dont right gutless comments over the internet just because thats where you are most comfortable saying it.

chevies look like they are hitting their stride after a rough first 2 games at the plate, stratfords bats are dead and the big question is can there pitching keep it up after their performance from league vet adam smith, chevies have lots of depth on the mound and lots of experience at the plate . my article is in the eastern graphic. good luck to all!
