Morgan Carlile of Summerside is expected to get the start for the Charlottetown Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders in Game 1 of the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League playoffs.

The Islanders will host the Moncton-based Hub City Brewers in Game 1 of the best-of-five first-round series at Memorial Field tonight. Game time is 6 p.m.

The Islanders went 11-21 in the regular season, and the Brewers finished 9-22.

This is the second year in a row these two teams have met in the playoffs. The Islanders pulled out a 3-2 series win in 2010.

In 29 1/3 innings pitched this season, Carlile has a 2.15 earned-run average (ERA) while allowing nine earned runs, 27 hits, three walks and striking out 32.

Mike Thompson is expected to start Game 2 for the Islanders in Moncton on Tuesday night. Game 3 is back in Charlottetown on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Islanders are hoping for a big crowd this evening.
