Sherwood Building Supplies has purchased 250 student tickets for the Island Storm's Easter Monday game.

The tickets became available to the general public Tuesday morning at the Eastlink Centre box office. They are limited to two tickets per family. Student tickets are valid for anyone under the age of 14.

Sherwood Building Supplies is owned by Island Storm owner Duncan Shaw.

"The Storm games are a lot of fun and kids always seem to enjoy themselves there," said George Young, the company's contractor sales manager. "Hopefully this initiative will save some families a few bucks in the process."

This will be the team's first game on the holiday in its five-year history.

"This was uncharted waters for us, but I think we made the right decision playing on Easter Monday," said the team's marketing director, Brett Poirier. "We're still about a week out from our game and many tickets are already sold."

The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. against the Halifax Hurricanes.

Anyone who cannot make it to the box office can reserve their free tickets by calling 902-629-6625 and making the purchase of at least one additional ticket. The box office regular hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week, however, all tickets must be picked up by Thursday as the box office is closed this Friday and all weekend.
