The pride of Kensington is heading to the Dalhousie Sports Hall of Fame.

Former women's basketball player Anna (Pendergast) Stammberger will be inducted on Tuesday, May 3, along with volleyball players, and brothers, Paul and Eric Villeneuve.

The ceremony will take place at the Westin Nova Scotian, in conjunction with the Tigers annual dinner and auction.

Stammberger wasa member of the Dalhousie women's basketball team from 1978-83. She was a three-time AUAA (AUS) all-star, two-time MVP and two-time CIAU (CIS) All-Canadian. She helped lead the Tigers to a silver medal at the national championship in 1979-81 and a bronze in 1981-82. A 12-year member of Canada's national team, she went on to play 15 seasons in the German semi-professional Bundesliga league.

"I'm honoured to be inducted into the Dalhousie Sport Hall of Fame," Stammberger said. "Dalhousie has been an integral part of my life for decades. Dalhousie and its community have supported me throughout my personal development and growth as a student-athlete during my whole athletic career. Returning to Dalhousie as a coach reaffirmed for me how grateful and proud I am to be part of the Dal family."
