Prince Edward Island will try and climb back to the .500 mark at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts tonight.

Suzanne Birt, third stone Robyn MacPhee, second stone Meaghan Hughes and lead Marie Christianson dropped a 10-8 decision to Northern Ontario’s Krista McCarville in Tuesday's morning draw in round-robin action at the Canadian women’s curling championship.

The Birt foursome dropped to 2-3 with the loss and will face Nova Scotia's Jill Brothers in Draw 10 tonight. Nova Scotia is 3-3 coming into the game against P.E.I.

P.E.I. jumped on Northern Ontario with four in the first end but the McCarville rink would answer with four of its own in the sixth end and hold on for the 10-8 win.

Green had the best game for P.E.I., percentage wise, curling at 65 per cent.
