Norman Beck, Denny King explode with on-air excitement as UPEI wins quarter-final in overtime

When UPEI won in overtime against Acadia Friday night, eliminating them 2-0, all 1,200 in the building went wild, but somehow, two found a way to stand out.

Following Marcus Power’s dramatic rebound goal, broadcasters Norman Beck and Denny King exploded in the booth and now it’s being replayed across the Island.

"The video says it all. We just kind of lost our minds temporarily," Beck said.

Being a former Panther himself, Beck has followed the program closely so he was nothing short of ecstatic to see them win the way they did.

"We were just so excited. We were high-fiving everyone in the vicinity. I’m not going to apologize for it," he laughed.

"They won in dramatic fashion. Arguably the best player scored the game-winning goal. What’s not to love about it?"

Why wouldn't they get excited? A couple of Island boys cheering for an Island team in a series the Panthers weren't supposed to win. Every true Panthers fan were that excited to get that win. Good job Schultz and Denny. Go Panthers Go.
