Thomas has double-double for Storm

Former Island Storm forward Cordell Jeanty had 21 points and 11 rebounds Sunday to help the Moncton Miracles defeat his former team 101-92.

Dexter Strickland scored 23 and James Justice 18 in the National Basketball League of Canada win in Moncton.

Terry Thomas had 27 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Storm. George Beamon had 13 points, Tirrell Baines 11 and Nick Evans 10 points and 11 boards.

The Storm led 23-19 after the first quarter but trailed 50-48 at half and 73-72 heading to the fourth.

Moncton and the Island are tied with 6-11 records.

Point guard Malcolm Grant has been activated while recently signed Josiah Turner has been placed on the injured reserve with a respiratory issue.
