Francis Menard had a goal and two helpers Saturday as the Saint Mary's Huskies defeated the UPEI Panthers 6-2 in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action.
Former P.E.I. Rocket Ben Duffy, Matt Tipoff, Michael Curtis and Stephen MacAulay each added a goal and an assist at MacLauchlan Arena. Stephen Shipley also scored while Calder Brooks had two assist and Bradley Greene and former Summerside Western Capitals forward Mitchell Maynard each added one.
Mason Wilgosh and Marcus Power scored for UPEI with assists to Nelson Armstrong, Sam Aulie and Cole MacMillan.
Cole Cheveldave made 25 saves for the win while Matt Mahalak stopped 22 shots in the loss.
Saint Mary's held period leads of 2-0 and 4-1.
The Huskies improved to 16-8-2 while the Panthers are 11-12-3. Despite the loss, the Panthers have clinched a playoff spot.
