Three was the magic number in the Kings County Kings 7-6 comeback victory over the Sherwood Drug Mart Falcons in P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League action Tuesday in Georgetown.
Down 6-4 going into the third period, the Kings scored three times, including Eddie Jenkins' third goal of the game, and stole the win at Three Rivers Sportsplex.
Sherwood scored six times during the first 40 minutes, thanks to a first-frame hat trick by Joseph Hood and second-period singles by Matthew Sinnott (1-1), Matthew McAulay and Hunter Boudreau (1-1). Drew Bowman and Levi Younker each had two assists.
Jacob MacEachern (1-2), Nathan Cahill (1-2) and Jenkins countered in the second frame for Kings County, which took a two-goal deficit into the final stanza.
Spencer Arsenault (1-1) and Derian Johnston, who potted the eventual game-winner, netted the other Kings markers in the third. Trey Vancolen, Jaysen Verreault and Brodie McCarthy each chipped in two assists.
The Kings went 0-for-3 on the power play, while Sherwood was 1-for-2 with the extra man.
Jed Walsh earned the win over Parker McCabe.
