Holland College women's volleyball squad meets King's
The Holland College Hurricanes basketball teams are headed to New Brunswick this weekend while the women's volleyball team travels to Halifax for Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) regular season action.
The basketball Hurricanes travel to Fredericton today to take on the St. Thomas Tommies at 1 and 4 p.m. before making the trip to Saint John Sunday to challenge the UNBSJ Seawolves at 3 and 5 p.m. The women play first both days.
The women's team (6-1) is in second place in the conference standings while the Tommies (4-5) are ranked fifth and the Seawolves (1-7) sixth.
Sunday's game will be the first time the Hurricanes meet the Seawolves while the 'Canes beat the Tommies 77-54 on Dec. 6.
The men's 'Canes (9-0) lead the ACAA standings, the Seawolves (4-5) are fifth and the Tommies (2-8) are seventh. The Hurricanes beat the Tommies 99-64 earlier this season.
The basketball Hurricanes next home games are Saturday, Jan. 23, when they host the University of King's College Blue Devils.
The women's volleyball Hurricanes team is looking to rebound after last Saturday's loss to the Mount Allison Mounties. They visit the Blue Devils for a games Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at noon.
King's (3-7) is sixth in the conference while the Hurricanes (8-2) are second in the ACAA and ranked 14th nationally. The Hurricanes won 3-1 earlier this season.
Today's game is the first of five in a row on the road for the Hurricanes. They return home Jan. 30.
