Mill Rats come to town after defeating Storm Saturday in Saint John, N.B.
The Island Storm will be looking to split their back-to-back games with Saint John Mill Rats today.
The teams play at 2 p.m. at the Eastlink Centre.
The Mill Rats defeated the Storm 124-108 Saturday in Saint John, N.B., in National Basketball League of Canada play.
Doug Herring Jr. had a game-high 30 points and 14 assists to pace the Mill Rats while Jean-Richard Volcy had 26 points and 15 rebounds. Gabe Freeman added 23 and Corey Allmond 17.
Brian Addison led the Storm with 22 points off the bench. Rashad Whack chipped in 18, Malcolm Grant had 15, while Nick Evans and Lovell Cook each scored 11. Mike Martin had eight points and eight rebounds. Evans had a team-high six assists.
Leading scorer Brent Jennings did not play.
The Mill Rats held quarter leads of 32-20, 54-49 and 85-77.
The Mill Rats hit 52 per cent (46-for-89) from the field, 41 per cent (14-for-34) from behind the three-point line and 75 per cent (18-for-24) from the free-throw line.
The Storm hit 50 per cent (41-for-82) from the field, 46 per cent (11-for-24) from behind the three-point line and 75 per cent (15-for-20) from the free-throw line.
Saint John stopped a three-game losing streak with the win and improved to 4-3 while the Storm (2-5) has dropped three straight and is tied with Moncton for the last in the four-team Atlantic Division.
