Western scores three times for home win in midget AAA play Saturday while Island teams go 1-1 versus N.B. squads

The Western Regals needed three third-period goals to get by the Kings County Kings 6-5 in P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League action Saturday in Alberton.

Brayden Handrahan (1-1), Silas Handrahan and Brayden Arsenault did the honours for Western in the third.

Tyson Arsenault (1-1), Ben Boulter and Alex Morrisey had the other Regals goals, while Will Tuplin and Connor Morrissey each chipped in two assists.

Regals goalie Bronson Banks earned the win over Kings counterpart Jed Walsh.

Blake Jamieson had a hat trick and added an assist for Kings County. Nathan Cahill and Matthew MacLaren chipped in single scores.

Also Saturday, the Charlottetown Brighton Construction Abbies clobbered the Moncton Hawks 7-3 in interlocking play with the New Brunswick Midget AAA League in Bouctouche N.B.

Clancy Doyle (2), Andrew Campbell (1-1), Gavin Hickey (1-1), Johnathan Gormley, Chris Sear and Kyle Doucette had the Abbies scores.

Ava Boutilier had the goaltending win for Charlottetown.

In other interlocking action, the Northern Rangers blanked the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils 2-0.
