Forward Ike Azotam has signed with the Island Storm for the 2015-16 season.
The Island Storm has added a player known for double-doubles.
Six-foot-seven, 235-pound forward Ike Azotam will attend the team's training camp in December.
"I've done the research and P.E.I. is where I want to play," said the 24-year-old Boston native. "This team has a history of winning and I want to be a part of something special."
is entering his second year of professional basketball after a successful college career at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut
He started for three years at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, averaging 16.2 points and 10.4 rebounds in his final year.
"Ike is a tough, hard-nose, physical player, who has a great mid-range game and isn't scared to mix it up a bit in the paint," said Storm coach Joe Salerno. "He is a double-double guy, someone who can get you 10 and 10 every night, and pose a mismatch problem to other teams."
Azotam played a year of professional basketball in Spain. As a starter for the Marin PeixeGalego he averaged 13.9 points and 6.6 rebounds while shooting better than 55 per cent from the floor.
"He is coming off a great rookie season in Spain, and I think he will only be better in his second year as a pro," said Salerno.
Azotam said he is looking forward to the opportunity to learn and play.
"I will take advice from the more experienced players and try to use that in any way possible. I'm a tough player on the court but I always try to have a good attitude. I'm excited. I'm ready to go."
