The host Moncton Miracles outscored the Island Storm by 13 in the fourth quarter on Saturday to win by 14 in National Basketball League of Canada action.
The Storm led 34-26 after the first quarter, trailed 55-53 at halftime and 82-81 going to the fourth before losing 118-104.
Daquan Brooks and Chris Matthews, with 21 and 20 points respectively off the bench, led the Miracles. Former Storm forward Dwayne Smith added 19 and Trayvon Lathan contributed 18.
Mathews went 6-for-8 from behind the arc as Moncton shot 65 per cent from downtown.
Rashad Whack led the Storm with 29 while Billy Rush added 20 and Louis Birdsong Jr. and Mike Martin each scored 13. Nick Evans had 12 off the bench while Martin added 12 rebounds.
The Miracles outscored the Storm 62-52 in the paint. The Storm had 21 turnovers, which led to 22 points for the Miracles.
Sammy Zeglinski, Brandon Robinson, Alex DesRoches and Doug McKinney did not play for the Storm.
Moncton improved to 4-8 while the Storm fall to 7-6. The teams meet again on Boxing Day at 2 p.m. in Charlottetown.
