The Island Storm picked up a 113-106 overtime victory on the road Sunday in Halifax.
Billy Rush led the way with 23 points as all five Storm starters hit double digits. Avery Smith had 20, Mike Williams and Rashad Whack each had 14 and Louis Birdsong Jr. 12.
Olu Famutimi had 15 points in 45 minutes off the bench while Mike Martin added 13. Both players are former Halifax Rainmen.
Birdsong and Martin each had eight rebounds.
Joey Haywood led the Rainmen with 22 points while former Storm player Chris Cayole had 18 and Seiya Ando 16.
Halifax led 25-21 after the first quarter but trailed 48-46 at halftime. The Rainmen took a 76-69 advantage to the fourth, but could not hold on, as the Storm outscored them 26-19 to force overtime.
Halifax has 35 points off the Storm’s 26 turnovers.
The Storm improved to 7-5 while the Rainmen are 5-4.
