Fillies and mares open goes to Andro Madi

Andro Madi won the fillies and mares open pace Thursday at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The mare stopped the timer in 1:56 flat.

Driver Dale Spence sent the Jonah Moase-trainee to the front carving fractions of 27.4, 57.1 and 1:26.2. General Luckypercy finished second with Stayoutofmyaffair closing for third. This was Andro Madi’s fourth win from 17 starts this season.

Sandhill Angel converted a pocket trip to score in the evening’s trot class for Kenny Arsenault, who participated in the annual hall of fame golf tournament earlier in the day, who did the driving for owner Glen Claybourne of Charlottetown.

Driver Ron Matheson is only five victories away from career win 1,000 after taking top honours with Artners in Crime in race 10. Bobbi Jo Gaudet is the owner while Jackie Matheson trains.

Marc Campbell posted three wins on the program.
