Jason Saggo will step into the UFC octagon next month in Vancouver.
Saggo, who trains at Wulfrun MMA in Clyde River, will fight Josh Shockley, of Indiana, on June 14 as part of UFC 174.
“It has always been a dream of mine to compete in the UFC,” Saggo said.
“I want to thank my head coach Paul Abel for his never-ending support and guidance. He has been the greatest influence in my martial arts career and in life.”
Saggo, who has a 9-1 record, has training in Brazilian jiu jitsu, muay thai and wrestling.
The 28-year-old, who is originally from Bolton, Ont., has won eight of his matches by submission.
