Mach It Big, under the command of Marc Campbell, wired the field to win the feature event Saturday at the Charlottetown Driving Park. The time of the mile was 1:56.1.
Campbell, who enjoyed a big night with five winners on the card, put Mach It Big on the point and never looked back carving fractions of 28.4, 58.4, 1:28.1 with a closing quarter of 28 seconds flat to seal the deal for owner-trainer Jonah Moase of Cornwall.
Van Zant (Ron Matheson) was second with Miracle Matts (Corey MacPherson) completing the triactor. The 4-1-2 combination returned $21.50.
The Campbell/Moase team also scored with Lets Make Ideal and Sterling Seelster.
Rosa Santanna, trained by Jamie Smith, and Kellys Cross, owned by Blair Hansen, Charlottetown and Patrick McWade, Stratford, started the Campbell parade taking the opening daily double on the card.
Abundaspin claimed the open trot class. The 14-year-old campaigner notched his 75th lifetime win for owner Mikaela Lustic of Cornwall. Driver Harold Shepherd engineered the trip and held off Caliban Hanover (Ron Gass) for the milestone victory. Pleasure Girls (Wayne Dunn) was third.
Jason Hughes made two appearances to victory lane with Panda Bear from the Darren and Jennifer Trainor stable and newcomer Jeramaya for Robi Hughes of Stratford.
