Island native Matt MacGrath (14-8) goes after his third mixed martial arts welterweight belt when he takes on Jarod Milko (8-2) at XFFC 4 on Saturday in Grande Prairie, Alta.

MacGrath won his last title fight at the ECC welterweight championship in October via TKO and is aiming to sign a deal with the UFC to fight in a UFC event in October in Halifax.

“My hope is to make P.E.I. proud when I bring back another title on April 19,” MacGrath said in a release.

MacGrath has more than 20 years of competing in national and international judo competitions, and has extensive wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu background. He owns a black belt in judo and a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

MacGrath trains at Wulfrun MMA in Clyde River.
