Red Rock Wrestling kicks off a new year of action-packed cards for pro wrestling fans and another year of fundraising for important causes.

This year, Red Rock Wrestling has joined forces with Naturally Fit Total Fx! to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Red Rock Wrestling's first show of 2014 is Friday at the Stratford Town Hall. Start time is 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the sale of Red Rock Wrestling champion Kowboy Mike Hughes' photos, T-shirts and a 50-50 draw will go to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Hughes and Jason Mosher, owner of Naturally Fit Total Fx, are members of the Society's Relay For Life 2014 Dream Team and the pair has set a goal of $10,000 they hope to raise at more than a dozen events this year.

"It's going to be busy, but it's going to a great cause. Everyone on P.E.I. has been affected by cancer in one way or another. If raising money and awareness helps our fellow Islanders, it's all worth it," said Hughes.

This is the first time the Canadian Cancer Society P.E.I. has benefited from events in a wresting ring.

"It's an opportunity to share our message about the importance of cancer prevention with this community," said Lori Barker, executive director of the Canadian Cancer Society P.E.I. Division.

"Every donation brings us closer to achieving our goals of preventing cancer, detecting it earlier, improving treatments and helping Islanders live healthier lives."

Naturally Fit works with its clients to improve their fitness and overall health and Mosher is pleased to help the fight against cancer in a financial way, as well.

"Islanders helping Islanders, that's what it's all about," said Mosher. "If we can help Islanders and have a great night of entertainment, that's even better."

Friday, Lincoln Steen, Road Warrior Riddick Stone, Marcus Burke and Vorhees will join the rest of the Red Rock roster. Luchadore Loco will make his debut on P.E.I. as well.

The Big Picture Chris Cooke, who now resides in P.E.I., teams up Hughes to take on Titus and six-foot- eight, 330-pound Brody Steele.

Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for kids and seniors, and are available at Phinleys Diner in Stratford, Red's Corner in Montague and Naturally Fit in Charlottetown. All tickets are $15 at the door.;
