Memorial sweeps basketball Panthers in weekend doubleheader

The UPEI men’s basketball Panthers were swept out in a weekend doubleheader against Memorial University after losing 103-97  Sunday.

It was the second four-point loss against Memorial after being downed 83-78 on Saturday.

Rookie guard Davion Parnsalu had career high 32 points and seven assists to lead Memorial.

Eighteen of those shots came from the free throw line.

 Vasillije Curcic had 12 rebounds.

Deontay Smith led UPEI’s offensive effort with 19 points and had three assists. Ellis Ffrench had four assists while Geoff Doane led in rebounds with eight.

UPEI sits at fourth in the conference with a 10-9 record.

The team will finish their season in a four-point game against St. FX Friday night.
