Island Storm loses second in a row to Moncton Miracles

The Moncton Miracles defeated the Island Storm 96-83 Saturday to complete a sweep of two games in as many days in the Hub City.

The Miracles (4-15) outshot and outrebounded the Storm during the National Basketball League of Canada contest. Three of its wins have come against the Storm (10-8), which tied atop the Atlantic Division standings with the Saint John Mill Rats.

Antonio Ballard led the Storm with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Al Stewart added 14 points and Ashton Graham 12.

Stanley Robinson had a game-high 26 points for Moncton while grabbing 11 rebounds.

The Storm returns home to the Eastlink Centre on New Year’s Eve at 7 p.m. when they host the Halifax Rainmen.

Tickets for the Storm Kids Dream Home Lottery, sponsored by Sherwood BMR, are on sale at Storm home games, at the Dream Home, and at Sherwood BMR. Tickets are $125 each or three for $300 with ticket sales supporting Easter Seals of P.E.I., the maternal child care unit of the Prince County Hospital, the pediatric unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and KidSport P.E.I. The dream home is located at 15 Harvest Dr. in Stratford, overlooking beautiful Keppoch Beach.

The draw for the $400,000 home happens New Year’s Eve at the Storm game.
