The Island Storm have added more size to their training camp roster, with the signing of centre Cody Boone.
The six-foot-nine, 245-pound Boone played at Seton Hill College in Pennsylvania. As a senior, he averaged 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game.
"Cody is a tremendous athlete for his size," said Storm head coach Joe Salerno. "He brings a true defensive presence inside for us, with the ability to protect the rim and block shots."
Salerno added he bring a new element to the team.
"Cody will be a fan favorite with his ability to play above the rim. He is an exciting player to watch."
The Storm announced Friday it has released small forwards Hillary Haley and Sammy Emile.
The Storm plays the Saint John Mill Rats Friday at 7 p.m. at UPEI in an exhibition matchup.
Tickets for the exhibition game at UPEI are available at the door, and costs are $5 for adults, $3 for students with proceeds going to UPEI basketball.
The Storm travels to Halifax on Sunday for a 2 p.m. game at the Metro Centre.
