The Island Storm has signed Toronto native Dwayne Smith.
The six-foot-six, 225-pound forward played 120 games at George Washington University.
"Dwayne is a real blue-collar basketball player," said Storm head coach Joe Salerno. "He's a hustle guy, who works extremely hard to get results on the court. He's got great size and is extremely versatile. We will look for Dwayne to contribute in multiple areas for our team."
Smith becomes the third Canadian to join the Storm's roster, including fellow Toronto native Ashton Graham, and Charlottetown's Doug McKinney.
The Storm host the Saint John Mill Rats Friday at 7 p.m. in an exhibition matchup at UPEI. Tickets for the exhibition game at UPEI are available at the door, and costs are $5 for adults, $3 for students with proceeds going to UPEI basketball.
The Storm travels to Halifax on Sunday for a 2 p.m. game with the Rainmen at the Metro Centre.
