The Mississauga, Ont., Falcons defeated the Winsloe-Charlottetown Royals 4-0 at the under-18 boys’ championship in St. John’s/Mount Pearl, N.L.
The Royals play the Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC Sparta from British Columbia today at 8:30 a.m.
The Island girls’ team, the Sherwood-Parkdale Rangers S.C., opens play today against Portage Trail S.C. from Manitoba at 8:30 a.m. Atlantic.
Nova Scotia defeated the Winsloe-Charlottetown Royals 2-1 at the under-16 competition in Kamloops, B.C. Alex O’Brien scored for the Royals, who play New Brunswick today at 3 p.m.
On the girls’ side, the Royals lost 2-1 to Alberta’s SWU Premiers. Emma Clark scored for the Royals while Camilla Shymka had both goals for Alberta.
The P.E.I. squad plays Varennes from Quebec today at 6:30 p.m.
Alberta’s SWU Napoli blanked Summerside United 12-0 at the under-14 girls’ competition in Lethbridge, Alta.
The Island champions play Surrey United from British Columbia today at 5 p.m.
The boys’ team, the Eastern Eagles S.C., begins their tournament play today at 3 p.m. against the Yukon Strikers.
