Holland College Hurricanes
Former teammates will be foes today when the Holland College Hurricanes host the Dalhousie Tigers in Atlantic Football League action.
Linebacker/fullback Andrew Oake, receivers Luke Williams and Robbie Tufts and quarterback Nick Hunsley are all former Hurricanes now playing for the Tigers.
“It’s going to be an interesting game, with two teams so well-matched,” said head coach Mark MacDougall. “We are going to have to maintain our focus and be relentless on both sides of the ball.”
The teams are tied for second place in the six-team league going into the game, which begins at 1 p.m. at UPEI Alumni Canada Games Place.
Holland College is partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society for this week’s game to raise awareness about cancer prevention and screening. Chefs from the Culinary Institute of Canada will cater a tailgate party, and the Welshmen Community Pep Band will be in the stands to keep the energy level high during the contest.
