Ashton Graham to make pro basketball debut with Charlottetown squad
Toronto native Ashton Graham will make his professional basketball debut with the Island Storm this fall.
The six-foot-four, 210-pound shooting guard was a two-year starter at the University of Tampa, averaging 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and two assists in his senior season.
He is the second Canadian player to be added to the Storm’s roster during the off-season.
Graham also played a year collegiately at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.
“Ashton was a great find for us while I was attending a pro-am tournament in Tampa this past June,” said Storm head coach Joe Salerno.
“He is extremely athletic, and can really be an explosive scorer.
“I think Ashton has the physical size and skill level to play at the professional level. Ashton could really be a nice surprise for us this season.”
The Storm will be holding two intra-squad games during training camp, and one home exhibition game at UPEI.
The Storm’s regular season kicks off Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. with a game at Charlottetown's Eastlink Centre when they host the Saint John Mill Rats.
