West Royalty's MacCormac named MVP of provincial under-14 fastpitch tournament

Vanessa Curran was named player of the game for her defensive effort, including making a key double play for the winning squad, who are also known as Bratz with Batz. Margaret Reynolds was named top pitcher for the tournament.
Brittney MacCormac was named tournament MVP for playing with a heavy heart with her sister Jamie in the hospital following an accident in Maine during the Labour Day weekend. Brittney had two home runs, two triples and many singles while making many defensive plays throughout the tournament.
“Brittney showed strength I didn’t know a 14-year-old could have,” said coach Chris Halliwell.
“She was by her sister’s side in Bangor, Maine but came home to play in the provincials with us. Her father Terry, an assistant coach with the team, sent well wishes to the team from Bangor.
“The Bratz were playing for the whole MacCormac family and became a very tight unit.”
The tournament began in Summerside but finished in Charlottetown because of heavy rains on the final day.
