Tickets for the upcoming P.E.I. Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony are now on sale.
The inductions will take place on Friday, Sept. 27, at 5:45 p.m. at the Top of the Park at Red Shores in Charlottetown.
This year’s inductees will be Sheila MacQuarrie (rifle shooting), Bill Ledwell (builder of sport), Hubert (Sock) MacDonald (softball and football), and the Charlottetown Islanders hockey team, which won two Hardy Cups in 1981 and 1984.
Demand for tickets is expected to be very high and are limited in number. They are only available from Nick Murray at Sport P.E.I. by calling 368-4547. Cost per ticket is $40.
“We expect this will be one of the most popular inductions ever,” said Murray, who serves as executive director for the hall. “I cannot stress enough the importance of purchasing tickets early as we will be sold out, and absolutely no tickets will be available at the door. In addition to the families of Sheila, Sock and Bill, it would be great to see as many of the championship-winning Islanders attend as possible.
