P.E.I. Rocket’s Josh Currie and Ben Duffy are among the finalists for Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s 2012-2013 Golden Puck Awards.
The league announced the award finalists Monday.
The awards will be presented in Montreal on Wednesday, April 3.
Currie is a finalist for the Michel Brière Trophy as the league’s most valuable player. The other nominees are Jonathan Drouin of the Halifax Mooseheads and Dmitrij Jaskin of the Moncton Wildcats.
Duffy, who has four minutes in penalties this season, is a finalist for the Frank J. Selke Trophy for sportsman of the year. Michael McNamee of the Sherbrooke Phoenix and Zach O’Brien of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan are the other finalists.
Currie and Duffy were one-two in the league scoring race, each with 100 points, heading into Monday’s action.
Currie has 46 goals and 54 assists while Duffy has 34 goals and 66 assists.
Drouin was third with 39 goals and 59 assists for 98 points while Jaskin was three points back with 45 goals and 50 assists.
There are six finalists for the RDS Cup as rookie of the year. They are Ivan Barbashev of the Wildcats, Marvin Cupper of the Shawinigan Cataractes, Philippe Desrosiers, Frederick Gauthier and Jan Kostalek of the Rimouski Oceanic and Valetin Zykov of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.
Serge Beausoleil of the Oceanic, Dominique Ducharme of the Mooseheads and Eric Veilleux of the Drakkar are the finalists for the Ron Lapointe Trophy as coach of the year.

The Rocket (38-23-3-1) will host the Moncton Wildcats (40-21-2-1) tonight at 7 in a rescheduled game from Feb. 10.
