MacDonald to meet MacKenzie in 4 p.m. final

Roddie MacDonald will play Eddie MacKenzie this afternoon with a trip to the Brier on the line.

The two Charlottetown Curling Complex rinks will meet at 4 p.m. in the Tankard provincial men’s curling championship final in Crapaud.

MacDonald stole three in the first end this morning en route to an 8-2 six-end victory over Jamie Newson in the semifinal. The MacDonald rink includes Kevin Champion, Mark O'Rourke and Andrew Robinson..

MacKenzie beat MacDonald 7-2 Monday in the Page 1-2 game and 6-5 Friday to claim the first playoff qualifying spot.

The MacKenzie rink includes Anson Carmody, Alex MacFadyen and Sean Ledgerwood.

The Brier will take place March 2 to 10 in Edmonton, Alta.
