Numerous events postponed due to storm

The winter storm has caused numerous sporting events to be altered this weekend.

The Tankard provincial men’s curling championship in Crapaud postponed Saturday and Sunday draws. They will pick up the schedule Monday with six teams still in play. Times will be confirmed later today.

The P.E.I. Rocket game against the Moncton Wildcats set for today at 4 p.m. has been postponed. A makeup date will be released later.

The UPEI Panther women’s hockey game Saturday against the Moncton Blue Eagles has been rescheduled to Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at MacLauchlan Arena.

The team’s game today in Fredericton against the St. Thomas Tommies was postponed. No makeup date has been released.

The Summerside Western Capitals Maritime Hockey League game today against Miramichi has been postponed. No makeup date has been announced.

The midget AAA hockey game between Sherwood and Charlottetown as well as the junior C game between in Belfast between the Surge Energy Sabres and Morell Cover All Construction Crunch. No makeup date for the midget AAA game was announced. the junior C game will be played Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in Belfast.

The junior C game in Tyne Valley between the Clover Farmers and North River Island Excavators Flames was postponed. No makeup date was announced.

The UPEI Panthers basketball games set for today against Cape Breton are still on. The women play at 1 and the men at 3 p.m. Eastlink is broadcasting the games.

The Atlantic University Sport swim championships have continued throughout the storm. The last of the finals go tonight starting at 6 p.m.
