to induct Islander

Island native Heather (Ford) Hall is one of eight new individuals to be inducted into the Gannon University Sports Hall of Fame today in Erie, Penn.

Hall, a softball pitching standout, graduated from Gannon in 2004 and in four years tallied 68 victories, 673.1 innings pitched, 857 strikeouts and a career 1.06 earned-run average.

She’s the school’s all-time leader in victories, innings pitched, strikeouts, ERA, shutouts (35) and complete games (81).

The top four all-time single-season strikeout totals belong to Hall, and she owns the top two single-season earned run averages.

She recorded a school-record 24 complete games in 2004 and posted 10 shutouts in a season twice.

Hall has been the women’s softball coach at Union University in Jackson, Tenn., since 2007.
