Western Capitals extend streak to eight games with win over Tigers

SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Western Capitals exploded in the second period en route to making it eight straight wins in the Maritime Junior Hockey League on Friday night.

Jonathan Aubertin scored twice while Mitch Maynard added three assists to lead the Capitals to a 7-1 road victory over the Campbellton Tigers.

The Capitals scored five unanswered goals in the middle frame to turn a 1-0 deficit after one period into a 5-1 lead after 40 minutes.

The Capitals, who improved their league-leading record to 27-6-2-0, will host the Metro Shipbuilders tonight. The opening faceoff at Eastlink Arena is set for 7 p.m.
