Sue Ellen McInnis has won a gold medal today at the under-19 world ringette championship in London, Ont.

The 18-year-old forward from Charlottetown played for Canada East, which defeated the defending champions from Finland 6-2.

Forward Josie Scott (Mitchell, Ont.) led the way with three goals.

It is the first time since 2002 Canada has won international gold at the event.
