O'Brien has big night for Curnch in senior hockey win over Granites

KENSINGTON — Greg O’Brien was red hot in leading the Charlottetown Cover All Construction Crunch to an 8-7 victory over the Kensington Granites in Island Community Senior Hockey League action Wednesday night.

O’Brien scored the Crunch’s first six goals and assisted on Greg McConnell’s first of two on the night for a seven-point game.

Jordan Costello (3), Garrett Lewis (3), Cory Chaisson (2), James Cooley (2), Josh MacKinnon and Patrick Smith all had assists.

The Crunch improved to 3-5 with the win.

Scoring for Kensington (4-2) were Alex Noonan, Cameron Webster, Mark Paynter, Devan Praught, Colin Webster, Nathan Praught and Jason Smallman.

Assists went to Brad Gallant (2), Tyler Murphy (2), Devan Praught, Smallman, Nathan Praught, Nick Tremere, Dustin Jones and Paynter.

Jarred Kelly picked up the goaltending win.
