Rocket wrecking ball hammers Sea Dogs

The P.E.I. Rocket's top line was a wrecking ball in a 6-3 win over the Saint John Sea Dogs on Sunday in Charlottetown.

Josh Currie (2-4), Ben Duffy (2-1) and Victor Provencher (1-2) smashed Saint John with five goals and 12 points in front of 1,750 spectators at the Civic Centre.

Alex Micallef had the other Rocket goal. Jimmy Oligny and Jack Nevins each drew a single assist. 

Duffy set the Rocket franchise record for career goals (he now has 123) and played in his 300th QMJHL game, all with P.E.I.

P.E.I. moved to 19-13-2-0. Saint John fell to 16-17.

Morell native Stephen Anderson (1-1), Aiden Kelly (1-1) and Stephen MacAulay scored for the Sea Dogs.

Rocket goalie Antoine Bibeau stopped 23 shots in the win while Dogs goalie Alex Fournier kicked aside 36 shots in the loss.

The Rocket face the Wildcats in Moncton on Wednesday (7 p.m.)

P.E.I.'s next home game is Dec. 28 versus the Wildcats. Game time is 7 p.m. at the CIvic Centre.
